Our Review:

PinkCupid.com is a cutesy, pink lesbian dating site with plenty in its favor. Whether you're looking for a pen pal, friendship, casual relationship, romance, dating or a relationship, PinkCupid.com will deliver the goods. So what's it like?

Whilst PinkCupid.com can be very busy at times, at other times it can be strangely quiet here. At the time of this review there were just 73 online. However, given that this would have been a rather unsociable time for most US members (who make up a significant proportion of the membership base) this wasn't all that surprising. Check back at other times and you're likely to find a lot more online. As well as US members, you'll find plenty from the UK and Europe too, as well as from other parts of the world. If you decide to sign up it takes just a couple of minutes and a valid email address, and there you are, a member. When you browse you get preview versions of member profiles containing a thumbnail photo, name, membership grade, location, looking for and last login, the latter being especially useful for screening out fake or inactive profiles. You can do pretty well with just the preview profiles alone, such as being able to access the full profile, add a profile to your favorites, show interest, send email or let them know you're busy. The full profiles are a little more detailed and focus on appearance, interests, habits (e.g. smoking and drinking), zodiac sign and lifestyle details. You''ll  also see similar members listed on the profile as you view it. You can upload 5 photos, one of which acts as your main profile pic. Most profiles are complete and have photos too, so the likelihood of encountering fakes or inactives seems less likely here. A novel feature is the quick view in which you are shown which parts of your profile and the one you are viewing are matched in accordance with the member and what they are searching for (indicated by a small green circle). The site is also pretty simple to navigate.

Search options comprise a basic search (I am, age range, location, distance) that you can filter by retaining only those with photos or setting a threshold date for last activity on a profile. Again, this helps screen out fakes and inactive profiles. The advanced search extends this to include appearance (e.g. eyes, hair, height, body, ethnicity, attractiveness), occupation, willingness to relocate, nationality, education, language, religion, zodiac sign. In addition to the quick search filters mentioned, you can also sort by newest profiles first, member grade and distance from your location. You can also save searches to save you specifying the same criteria again. Other searches include a keyword search, cupid tag search (whereby you can search for tagged words associated with profiles), member number search and name search. Finally, there are a few preconfigured searches to pick from too, including 'my matches' (members you are linked to, based upon compatibility), 'most popular members', 'latest photos', 'new members' and 'in my area'. So, all in all, you get a comprehensive selection of search options to choose from.

To connect with other members there's a safe and secure internal mail system for you to exchange emails with other members. This means that you get your own email inbox on the site itself. This is the default means of communication for most members. Sending an 'interest' lets you contact a member with a preformatted, automatic message that lets them know you're interested. Then there's the instant messenger (IM) feature that allows you to chat in real time (by typing text). All you do is click on the appropriate icon on a member's profile to request to chat using IM (and hope they respond). Some members also have video profiles that you can watch, or you might want to create your own (you can do this on the site if you have a webcam, or upload a previously made video from your computer). These are great because, unlike a normal profile, videos let you know the way a person moves, talks, reacts, etc. You can also mail video profiles to other members as attachments. However, it should be noted that the video profile feature is only available to Platinum members (see below). Other ways of connecting with other members include creating a favorites list, or a friends network (members need to confirm you as a friend). You can also block nuisance members so they are unable to view your profile or communicate with you. 

Free members get to join and create a profile, add up to 5 photos, send an interest (contact paying members only) and read messages from paying members only. In addition, free members get access to basic searches. Gold members get all of this and get to read messages from free members, use IM, allow free members to read your messages, add a personality profile to your main profile, access to advanced searches, email other members and rank above free members in searches. Platinum members rank above Gold, get unlimited access to all features including video profiles and mail, and a translation service for messages. You can save 33% on Gold membership for 3 months or as much as 50% or even 62% if you sign up for 6 months or a year respectively. Meanwhile, Platinum members save 33% on a 3 month membership, 50% on a 6 month membership and a huge 67% if signing up for a year. It certainly makes sense to have full access to all the site's features, therefore a Platinum membership is recommended if you're serious about meeting others. Finally, There's a decent FAQs section and email support if you have any problems or queries. 

PinkCupid.com is a fantastic website with a good membership base, plenty of online activity and great search features, to name but a few benefits. If you're looking to meet lesbian and bi-females online then you'll certainly be tickled pink with PinkCupid.com.
