LesbianPersonalsOnline.com is an easy-to-use and friendly lesbian dating website. Whether you're looking for friendship, dating, casual encounters or a relationship, there's plenty on offer to get you going in the right direction.

At the time of this review there were 984 members online, though you'll often find the site a lot busier than this. There are literally millions of people registered on the site, though of course not all of these profiles will be active, and a significant proportion are false profiles. Nonetheless, there's a huge membership base of authentic profiles, so your chances of meeting somebody are high. The site employs an easy-to-use 'dashboard' type system with which you can access your profile, account details and navigate the site. It's free to join and create your profile; all you need is a valid email address. Profiles are fairly detailed and tame; you won't find any nudity or sexual content on the site. To help authenticate your profile it's possible to verify it by following the simple instructions on the site. This is bound to get you more interest, and verified members also give you confidence that a profile is authentic when browsing. Another way of enhancing your profile is to spend a few credits on 'getting featured', meaning that your profile will appear at the top of search results for a limited period (costing 20 credits-$3.99). When browsing, preview profiles display a small thumbnail photo and give the member's name, age, location, looking for, relationship status and whether they are verified. Clicking on the preview profile opens up a very detailed full profile containing information about the member's appearance, interests and physical characteristics.

The chat feature is effectively an instant messenger (IM) by which you can (text) chat in real time with other members by clicking on their profile. There's also a chat+ feature in which you can enhance your chat by adding a webcam and getting audio and video. You can also send gifts (costing variable amounts of credit), but it's a reasonably pointless venture. Other ways of getting in touch include creating a favorites list and checking out your 'smart matches'; profiles sent to your inbox based upon your profile characteristics and search preferences; the more you interact on the site, the more matches you receive.

The site alleges that free members are able to meet the love of their life without spending a cent. Free members can send smiles and reply to emails, however, it's not possible to initiate contact by email. Free members can also chat using IM if they receive a request from a subscribing member. Two levels of premium membership are available. Limited premium membership gives you all of the features but you have to purchase credit in addition to your subscription to any features that are not free to all. Credit blocks and prices are listed above. Premium unlimited members get access to all features for free and do not require credit. In terms of value for money, it's unlikely that you'll be contacted as a free member unless you put a lot of effort into creating a really great profile. Whether you go for limited or unlimited membership will obviously depend on how often you use the site. As unlimited membership can be purchased for a little extra, it's worth doing this rather than messing around with credits.
