Our Review:

GaydarGirls.com is a seasoned campaigner in lesbian dating. Experience has paid dividends and all you need as a lesbian single is here. With some great and original features that you don't see on other sites, it's well worth checking out GaydarGirls.com if you're serious about getting the most out of dating.

At the time of this review there were 2133 online, mostly members from the UK and Europe. However, there were also plenty of members on the site from the US and rest of the world. At times, the site can be buzzing with members, so if you want to meet people online, chat and make friends or arrange a date, you'll find plenty of opportunity. Profiles are quite detailed, however lots of profiles seemed to lack photos, leading one to question whether they were fakes. However, there are still thousands upon thousands to browse and you certainly won't be disappointed here. Profiles contain general info about members (e.g. age, location, interests, appearance) and other details about the member's relationship status, what they're looking for, hobbies, occupation, education and more. You can upload a main photo and up to 5 secondary photos, as well as up to 10 more photos in your private album (meaning that only members you grant access to will be able to see them). Usefully, the profile also records the last activity on a profile, so helping you to screen out fake or inactive profiles. 

There's a really impressive range of search options available to members. Keyword search allows you to select from a range of words that will yield all profiles in which the word appears. These cover fetishes, sexual acts, sports, languages, religions, appearance and more from menu lists. The quick search lets you specify country, your status, what you want, age range and zodiac sign (you can also filter results to leave you with profiles with photos of online members only). Advanced search extends these criteria to also include habits, sexual orientation, physical appearance,  interests and more. Username search allows you to find a member by their name, whilst the power search enables you to focus on the most important aspects in a member's profile, e.g. location, keywords, interests, looking for, profession, etc. These results can be sorted by age, location, newest members and last login. There's also a city search (to find members in specific cities), and a distance search too. In summary, you're really spoiled for choice here. That's not forgetting the preconfigured one-click searches that list new profiles, members online and members located near you.

To connect with other member you can exchange emails using the internal email system, which guarantees that the messages you send and receive are always secure and confidential. You can also chat in real time by requesting instant messenger (IM) chat with another member. Other features include the travel itinerary feature in which you can feed in and advertise your travel plans so you can meet other women wherever you're going, or hook up with members traveling near your location. Meanwhile, the Gaydar Positioning Services (GPS) helps you pinpoint members in your area. You can also browse and comment on the member forums, create a list of friends, a favourites list and post status updates on your profile. It's also possible to use the basic search options (searches with the exception of advanced search and distance search). 

Free members are fairly restricted to just being able to create a profile, browse profiles with access only to the standard profile photo, reply to emails from premium members and access the forums but not comment. Premium members get unlimited access to email, IM and other methods of communication, all searches, all profile photos and features including GPS and travel itinerary, plus no restrictions at peak times, preferential customer support and message history. Whilst remaining a free member is likely to be too restrictive, if you upgrade and take out 1 3-month membership you can save 25%, or 30% over 6 months. However, the best option is the 37% discount you get for a 12 month membership. Finally, there's an email form to get technical support, a help section full of info and online support too (11 online at the time of this review). 

GaydarGirls.com is a well-known name in the lesbian and gay dating arena, and has stood the test of time. Whilst not quite making it to the top in this category, it has a huge membership base and loads of features, especially some of the best search options around. You can also get a great deal if you upgrade, so make sure you take a look.
